I went to go see The Blanks (Ted's band from Scrubs) play at Sin City in Swansea. It turned out to be one of the best nights out I have ever had, it was so different to all the other nights. No over-bearing club with awful music and people who look they had been kicked through River Island and come out the other side with the entire new season on their back!
It was a great environment, I felt so comfortable there unlike in the previously mentioned clubs. The night got even better when they came on stage, the crowd roared and cheered. Their unique mix of a sort of 'barber-shop quortet' and accapella style was so refreshing and fun, it was great to dance and sing along too.. the whole club was singing along to their covers such as 'Charles in Charge' and even Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' plus their own songs they had written. In between songs they did comedic sketches, which were so funny. The crowd was going wild, the energy in the room was so intense, so was the heat for that matter! (Note to self, never wear a leather jacket to a gig again, I was so hot!)
Afterwards I got the very lucky chance to meet the band! They had recognised me from the front row where I had been standing, one of them, George, came up to me and gave me a big hug! Chatting to them was really fun, they seemed to really love interacting with their fans. I still can't believe I shook Ted's hand! So along with that meeting I got all of their autographs and a picture taken with them.
It was such an amazing night, this was my first gig and it certainly wont be my last.
