REVIEW: VERSACE - YELLOW DIAMOND

In my last post I wrote about Paco Rabanne - '1 Million', well on the same day I also treated myself to Versace - 'Yellow Diamond'. I've never bought a women's fragrance before, most that I have smelled have been too sweet and 'girly' for my liking, but recently I came across 'Yellow Diamond' and fell in love with it.

It has of course a feminine scent to it, but in a very fresh, sunny way.. not just the typical 'flowery' smells that are usually associated with female fragrances. Again I was wary of buying it (I'm so indecisive about purchases such as fragrance as it's a daily thing which I need to love enough to wear it everyday) but now I am so happy that I did buy it.

"Yellow Diamond is crafted as a pure, transparent and airy floral fragrance, sparkling and intense as the yellow color, while being luxurious and feminine like a diamond. Its composition opens with luminous freshness of lemon, bergamot, neroli and pear sorbet. The heart features airy orange blossom, freesia, mimosa and water lily. The base is made of amber, precious musk and guaiac wood."
As you all know I am quite an androgynous guy, some days I'm more feminine and some days I'm more masculine.. my outfits and the way I style my hair play a huge role in this and now so can what fragrance I am wearing. I now have a very masculine fragrance in '1 Million' for nights out, dVb will always be part of my collection and 'Yellow Diamond' will be the perfect fragrance to compliment my androgynous days.

I absolutely love the packaging and the bottle! The box it came in was a bright citrus yellow with a gold Baroque pattern, so very Versace darhling! The bottle is a gorgeous shape, with its sharp cut lines and facets just like a exquisite gems tone. The top is a large bright yellow (although the color has been drained from this photo unfortunately) crystal which matches the color of the liquid sunshine inside, in the centre of the crystal is the Versace medusa logo in gold.. all together it is a very well designed bottle that would look great on any dressing table.

I bought it from Boots, 30ml on sale for £20.99.. also included in the box is a 50ml perfumed body lotion which I think is a nice extra. I recommend this fragrance and especially at this price it's a perfect little treat for yourself or a loved one.

ASOS COLLECTION A/W 2010

Inevitably the Summer is coming to the end and now Autumn is almost upon us we must start planning our new season wardrobes! This Autumn/Winter season I am determined to stay warm in a fashionable way.. no more bulky layers, mismatched knitwear (I can't stand it when my scarf and gloves don't match!) and unflattering outerwear.

I have started to put together a 'to buy' list for this season and one of the collection that I looked at was the ASOS COLLECTION, I adore the fur and knitwear.. two of the greatest things about the cold weather: the chance to wear two of my favorite fabrics.

Anyway, these are my personal favorites and will hopefully be in my closet in the following months!

These are fabulous, they would add touch of English countryside aristocratic glamour to any outfit.

This headband is super cute and would definitely keep my ears warm, also this plain grey marl hoody is perfect for layering on those lazy days.
I love these vintage inspired satchels, can't decide what color to buy, so I might have to buy both!

WINTER 2010 INSPIRATION

Yes, I know the summer has only just began but in fashion we're always looking and planning 6 months ahead!

One of the Fall/Winter 2010 collections that inspired me most was D&G's Women's collection, featuring heavy knits, snowflake/reindeer motifs, fur and bedazzled ski accessories. On screens either side of the wooden catwalk showed a video of snowy alpine mountains, skiing and it just set the tone perfectly.

Last winter it was the coldest winter I have gone through, and to be honest I wasn't prepared for it. I wore as many clothes as I could wear in one outfit just to try and keep warm.. therefore looking uncoordinated which usually is one of my strong points. So this winter I will be prepared! Taking inspiration from D&G's collection I have designed and starting planning outfits that will keep my warm and fashionable!

I love the prints (they just scream winter to me), the tight knitwear, the use of shirts and those bow ties gives the outfits an interesting formal edge and the fur booties! My first piece of my winter wardrobe is in production, I'm really exited about it as I've learnt a new skill during the process, more information in a later post.

Shoe Candy

Stereotypically, women are obsessed with shoes (particularly high heels), while this may not apply to all women it does to the majority of the population. After going shopping with a close female friend this past week I can certainly see the reason behind the obsession!

You don't need to pay a hefty price for a pair of designer shoes, the British high street has so many stunning shoes with a designer influence on the design at a fraction of the cost. These are my favourites that I have found all under £100.

This Week's Hottest Item...

Every Wednesday I will post the hottest item of clothing/accessory I find, this week I have found this laser cut panelled dress from Jane Norman

Its a creamy white color with a contrasting black bust line, very Chanel chic and comes in sizes 6 to 16. This dress is £50, but you would be able to wear it again and again by mixing it up with different accessories.

I would team with this dress a pair of black peep-toe high heels and a small black mock-snakeskin clutch bag.

Get it before it goes!
